Michelle is the Alumni Coordinator and Patient Advocate for Caron Ocean Drive. Michelle began her career as a Counselor Assistant in 2014 and later transitioned to a Lead Counselor Assistant where she oversaw both the staff and clients. These roles involved client care, crisis management, and assisting clients in developing trusting relationships. In her role as the Alumni Coordinator, Michelle is dedicated to supporting the continuum of care through maintaining professional relationships with those who have completed the Ocean Drive program. She works directly with clients to develop an aftercare plan and connects alumni with the appropriate resources to help them excel in executing their strategy. She utilizes a variety of continuing care models to help bridge the gap for clients transitioning to their home environments while maintaining a connection to Ocean Drive throughout their recovery process. Michelle assists with the creation and planning of Caron events, including the Ocean Drive Alumni weekend and the Gratitude weekend. As the Patient Advocate, she ensures that the client’s needs are met throughout their stay at Ocean Drive. Additionally, she encourages clients to play an active role in their treatment and supports them in setting and achieving treatment goals. She is currently working towards a Social Work Degree from Florida Atlantic University.
