Residential Family Program

An integral part of Ocean Drive’s treatment is the Residential Family Program. During this intensive program, the family member resides with the client and is provided the opportunity to address their individual needs while simultaneously working with the client to improve their relationship. The program is tailored to the needs of both the client and family member and provides the clinical team the opportunity to observe interactions, highlight concerns in real time and address the issues fueling dysfunction in the relationship. This program is offered at no additional cost to an Ocean Drive client and their family. The length of the program is determined by the clinical needs of each client.

Our Residential Restructuring Program addresses issues such as trauma, unresolved grief and loss, attachment issues, communication difficulties and other couples related problems.

How it works

Family members:

  • Have their own assigned family therapist and participate in individual and family/couples sessions.
  • Attend daily group sessions to address personal and relationship issues.
  • Participate in ancillary services as well as community based activities.

Timing for the program is flexible; programming can happen before, during, or after a client’s treatment or without a client in treatment.

At the end of the program, each family member will:

  • Increase expectations for themselves and the client.
  • Establish healthy boundaries.
  • Be able to implement reasonable and natural consequences.
  • Engage in healthy communication and utilize appropriate conflict resolution strategies.
  • Focus on self-care and emotional regulation by developing supports and resources.
  • Enhance connection and improve intimacy.
