Evaluation & Treatment Planning

When it comes to personalizing care, we leave no stone unturned.
Individualization is a hallmark of transformational care. Ocean Drive consistently designs and delivers highly personalized and effective treatment, because we take the time to get to know clients and families through an all-encompassing assessment process.

Additional tests

When clinically indicated, we may recommend the following tests:
  • Neuroimaging (CT, MRI, SPECT scans) identifies and uncovers addiction-induced brain damage.
  • Pharmacogenomic testing assesses genes to optimize medications.
  • Wellness testing examines nutritional and hormonal levels.
  • Neuropsychological testing evaluates one’s cognitive, projective, and personality functions.

Admissions at
Ocean Drive are a clinical process

The clinical process begins with initial outreach to Ocean Drive.  A case specialist begins the process by
developing a thorough understanding of the client and family’s medical and psychosocial history.
He or she then collaborates with Ocean Drive therapists to design a customized treatment plan.

Detox when
clinically necessary

Detoxification, or detox, is the process of ridding the body of drugs or alcohol while managing
symptoms and stabilizing overall health. Depending on clinical need, clients may need to undergo detox.

Ocean Drive is not an acute care facility; however, the clinical team will recommend detox at an approved
hospital or other healthcare center when clinically indicated.  Once the patient has been stabilized,
he or she will be transferred to Ocean Drive.

Onsite assessments

As soon as clients arrive on campus, our multidisciplinary team of clinicians conducts extensive assessments, including:
  • Comprehensive medical evaluations
  • Addiction medicine evaluations
  • Biopsychosocial assessments
  • Informational interviews

Family members undergo their own comprehensive assessment process, which provides valuable insight into personal needs and the family system.
